howdy everybody,

my names Barry, 20, im currently a student at Pa college of technology for auto body, pontiac muscle car fanatic so natural fit. I've had reptiles thru most of my life, frogs, snakes, gecko, plates lizards, had 12 in all when i was 18 and was forced to get rid of them all due to personal reasons. had leopard geckos before, but decided or actually talked into getting my first baby by my girlfriend.

here she is, i beleive shes a leustic(correct me if im wrong), found her in a cage with a dozen or so normals and she stuck out like a sore thumb. she's just at 4", very calm and relaxed for a leo her size, atleast in my expeirence.

and yes that is sand in her tank, i was having issues with the tile only the peices right on the heat pad were getting warm so i layed a bed of sand under the tile and filed the cracks, pretty minimal amount and she gets fed ina seperate house. Thinking of trying to fill the cracks with clay in her new cage, she's in a 10 now but moving to a 20l once i finish building the cabinet for it. anyone try that clay burrowing substate they sell?

Welcome to the forum.

Sand is not good nor recommended for babies because they may eat it and become impacted.

Paper towels, reptile carpet or just plain ole tile is best.

Read about substrate in the forum.

Have fun.

The reptile burrow stuff (cannot remember the name) isn’t all they say it is, don’t waste your money.

Also, they’re not referred to as leucisitc anymore, but Patternless.

Other than that, welcome to the forum.

i was just looking at it to fill the cracks in the tile, thought it looked like just little clay balls but wasnt sure, guess ill stick with regular clay.

thanks for the tip explains why i had a hard time finding references to leucisitics.

Realy missed the world of reptles, already remeber the downfall, very addicting:main_laugh:

Welcome, Barry! You picked out a cute one. One of my favorite geckos is a Patternless that we got at about the same size as yours if not a little smaller. He would just sit in my hand and go to sleep, he's still one of the most mellow geckos we have. I must warn you, you came to the wrong place if you didn't want to fall back into a reptile addiction full swing. LOL
