far side of sanity
this is so unfair!
some ppl dont have family and their pets ARE their family!!!
if this bill passes i hate to say it but i WILL hide my geckos.
i dont care if i get in trouble with the law,
as far as im concerned they can kiss my all american a$$!!! :main_angry:
most animals are bred here in the US now so i dont know why they are having issues with this and ya know what in my opinion i think its a load of BS and they really need to talk to ppl about this without making a decision.
when i first heard of this frikkin bill i went to my room, got out all 4 of my geckos held them and CRIED. :bigcry: they are my life. my pets are my life. i love them so much and anyone who wants to take them away from me has to get past me first.
and i wont give in easy there will be a fight.
its wrong some ppl love their animals more then life itself..
i know im just ranting but if ALL of us did something couldnt we stop them?
ALL of us from this foru, set up a poll, all of us agree to it and send it to someone on the board?
if i could id go to the white house of the U-S-fckin-A and have a few choice words with obama himself.
honestly im not impressed with what hes done so far.
i hope he does better soon.
maybe starting with oh i dont know,
GETTING RID OF HR669!?!

if anyone thinks we should do a poll on this please let me know and please help me set one up.
one voice is all it takes to get attention from them,
imagine what a THOUSAND would do..

PETA, HSUS, ASPCA, but mostly the Defenders of Wildlife are the initial cause for this "Proposed" legislation.

I really doubt this bill will pass as I'm sure atleast SOME (or I'd even go so far as to say MOST) of those voting will have or have had pets - budgies, gerbils, geckos or otherwise - at some point. They're human too afterall. The bill overall is extremely vague and if it's implemented may not even be enforced.

I also highly doubt that PETA and other animal activist groups will EVER get rid of dogs or cats - especially considering the tradition of the President's dog and it's place in public relations. Not only that but there are too many working dogs and cats in the US for them to be banned just like that. I'm sure Congress knows how many people depend on their animals for emotional and even health support.

Maybe not so much small mammals and reptiles but ferrets are still used to run wire in narrow underground tunnels and hunting out pests even today. (Saw a show on Animal Planet about it a while back.)

That being said, even though I'm in Canada, I still have my roots and friends in the US and I'll sign any petition to get this bill tossed.

My boyfriend is almost positive it won't pass but we've sent out e-mails and everything anyway, just so they know how awful of an idea this bill was.
