What human diseases can geckos get from their owners? I know that dogs can get strep throat and most mammals can transmit the common cold and diarhea, but what about geckos? other than salmonella, i mean. And i'm not talking about geckos giving it to their owners, but rather their owners giving it to their geckos.

Diseases and parasitic infections that can be transmitted to humans from animals are called "zoonoses". It is rare for a human to transmit a disease to a reptile, but there are a few that can be contracted by humans from reptiles:

- tapeworms
- pentasomids
- hookworms
- pinworms
- giardia
- trichomonas
- bacteria (such as salmonella)

It's always a good idea to wash your hands before and after handling your reptiles, especially after contact with their feces or drinking water.
