Oh how I hate you humanities 113. It's only the fourth day into the quarter and I'm ready to throw this book into a fire.

First thing that annoys me is how my professor is rather vague in her syllabus about the grading system. It's an online course so I have to e-mail her. E-mail system goes down and everyone loses every e-mail ever sent/received so we have to wait a few days to get it back.

I open up the exam questions for the unit. It's the homework for the work. It's not multiple choice but oh well, I can give her the answers she wants. What I can't give her are answers that you can't find anywhere in the book or online links she gives you.

Did I mention how vague she was about this class? We have two papers to write. One on a piece of art we look at and then on a live performance. Three to five pages long for each paper. She tells us the points she wants and that's it. Doesn't say if we can double space(so tempted to just double space and send it in.)or anything. Then again if it's double spaced and she gives me a zero I can say she never said it couldn't be. The fact that she wants three pages from looking at a piece of art is just crazy.

I'm just a wee bit stressed right now. Trying to take an online class with your arm still in a sling the majority of the day is hard. Add some frustration with the class and pain from having to type so much and it gets to you.

Ten weeks....the class is only ten weeks. I just need to keep telling my self that. Oh and she never said anything about a midterm or final exam. Here's to hoping she doesn't give one.:wall:

Sometimes I wonder where they get these professors from..

3-5pages on a piece of art isn't crazy just as long as you know what it's all about. My old school was showcasing a Dominican artist in their small art gallery. My professors assignment was to go, check it out then right a 3-5page paper describing what we saw and what it meant, etc, etc, etc. I BS-ed the entire thing because I didn't know a tent made out of PVC pipes with paint splattered on it while a recording with someone speaking spanish really fast meant.. lol.. Just make sure to make it colorful, lol

How if all I had to do was make a tent out of PVC and throw some paint on it, I’d be a millionaire. :main_laugh:

But good luck on your class! Is there any way you could call this teacher, to clear a few things up? It’d help if you could get her number through e-mail, if it is not given to you another way, so you can clear things up if needed.

You sound like me when I was talking my online art history class. TONS of reading. Very little TEACHING done by the prof. You'd think we'd have actual DISCUSSIONS or a chat or something.

Anyway, good luck with your course!

You must have our humanities professor from a few semesters ago....she sucked....was so vague and had a SERIOUS case of ADD...and she didn't know it....
