Humid hide help

What substrate should i have in my humid hides, currently i have a layer of paper towel then a layer of moss.My problem is they tend to spread the moss everywhere and it is a mess.Is it ok to just have paper towel? or do they enjoy having moss as well?

I use cocunut fiber, It works well for the lay boxes as well. They love to dig in it.

Some people use papertowel but I find that it dries up too quickly. Do you have the opening of your hide on the side or on top? When it's on top and about half an inch from the front, the leos can't kick the moss out at all. I used to have hides with the holes on the side and had to put the moss back in almost every day.

You can wrap the moss or coconut fiber in paper towel to prevent them from eating it or throwing it around.

Do you have the opening of your hide on the side or on top?

Yup! When the opening is on the top, they don't make such a big mess.

Thanks, my opening is in the front so i guess i will just have to deal with it for now and look into other options.

I use paper towel and spray it/change it as needed or every day.
