So I'm getting really frustrated with humid hides! Currently I use Spaghnum Moss but it dries out really quickly. I use to use a mix of the moss and Coco Fibre but that was super dusty even though it worked a lot better.

I know people use Vermiculite and such in lay boxes. Would it be ok to use in a humid instead of moss or paper towel?

I use sphagnum moss. I use quite a bit of it in each hide and really squeeze the water into it. I find the smaller the hide is the quicker it dries out. I need to re-wet the sandwich container hides I use for geckos under 30g about 2x a week. The 4-cup hides hold moisture for about a week before they need to be re-wet.

If your humid hide is getting dusty then it is drying our. How many times a week are you adding moisture to it?
