Hi,

I would like to know how? I came home tonight and the temps were like 98 degrees and the humidity was almost 60 according to one of those exo terra stick on hygrometers. I just would like to know how to keep this low if its possible as I have read with the humidity being to high can cause respritory problems with leos. Now my house is hot in here right now should I cool it down? thanks in advance.........Shaun

I found when I first got my geckos that the humidity was always between 50-60, which is obviously too high, I realised that this is because my water bowl was too big, I got a much smaller one and now its almost always between 30-40, also try and keep the water bowl in the cool side as obviously the heat on the water will just cause more moisture in the air. Hope this helps :D

hmmmmmmmmm now that there is a good point. Maybe I do have to big of a water bowl. I will try another little feeding bowl thingy I have from exo terra it is a lot smaller then the regular bowl that I am using now. The other day it seems like the humidity was around 40 some percent and it just shot up high all of a sudden. I am not sure what the deal is that caused it but anyhow I do keep my water bowl on the cool end of the tank but I guess I will try what you suggested and see if that does help. I thank you for answering my question............SHaun

ditch the heat lamp (you should be using an under tank heater anyway with leopard geckos) and keep the water dish and humid hide away from the hot side of the tank.
