Humidity Issues

Hello,

I am new to raising Leos, I currently have two, one is mine (still young) and another is my boyfriends (he is older, roughly 6 months or so) that I am keeping watch of while he is away at college. I am having problems with the humidity in the tanks. I only mist the humid hides MAYBE once a day and nothing else. The room it's kept in is pretty decent temperature and I'm pretty sure that the temp in the cage is fine but the last time checked the humidity of the tanks are in the upper 40s. Is this okay and if not how do I fix it to make the Leos more comfortable?

Thanks in advance,
-Britney

Leopard geckos are desert creatures and do best in low humidity so the 40% range is fine. Just mist the humid hide when it dries out

Proper ventilation is more important than hitting a number on a hygrometer. Which, if you are using an analog dial hygrometer from the pet store, is horribly inaccurate anyway. My frog tanks often cause the humidity in my reptile room to spike up to 70 or 80 percent, with 40-50 being average, and I have seen absolutely no harmful effects on my leos or beardies.

Thread revival.....

My humidity is around 20-25%. Will this cause any issues?
