At what point does a humid hide loose some of its usefulness or become a hindrance?

As I live up near Seattle on the sound humidity never really gets low unless its freezing outside... As It generally doesn't get that hot in the summer few people have AC or swamp coolers i have neither.

My inside tank humidity is about 5% lower then outside on average but has yet to drop below 30%. During the summer I'll assume it'll get into the 50-60 range from time to time.

I have read a couple places that high humidity can cause respiratory issues with geckos.

At what point is the humidity too high?

Depending on where you live your ambient humidity can range quiet a bit from desert to sea. What are some average ambient %humidities for people?

Well, I live in NY and we always have high hummidity here. I always use humid hides. Yes to much hummidity can cause health problems but the humid hides wont affect that, leos like it dry and the only hummidity they need is from the humid hides and thats only if their in it. If you were to mist the cage or something like that, it wouldnt be good because they wouldnt be able to avoid it..
