Here's a little history on my Hypo Bells... Late last year I did this pairing hoping to increase the color in my Bells... I never expected any Hypos because in '06 I didn't get a single Hypo out of fifteen eggs from SHTCT het Bell x Tang Bell... Well I've gotten five now out of ten eggs with four still cooking... So after number two and three came around I decided the Ghost (Dominant Hypo) gene had to be involved... I'm confused though... How can there be so much color? Can line bred Hypos make more when bred to non Hypos? The mother has an Enigma parent... Maybe the hypo trait Enigmas have is carried by siblings? The mother also has orange in her eyes as well as at least two of her babies...

Hmmm???

What pairing did you do for these? Did you use an actual Ghost het bell x tang bell or Shtct het bell x tang bell? That will make a difference. From what I know the actual Ghost gene is some type of dominant. Jeremy and Paul did a buch with Ghost x Bell so they might have some answers for you if you used the Ghost. I thought the Ghost gene would make the leo not bright, but I could be wrong. I did see a few recently that have some intense tang on them-my guess would be one of the parents had a lot of tang?
As for the Shtct, I would guess if it's a bright one then the color influence would be like any other linebred. I did a mack het bell x hybino (and she was not bright) and got both light colored hypo bells, tang bells and a dark snow bino. But this hybino's mom was a dark Sht so my guess is the color came through from grandma some how.
If you look at the progression of some bells that were bred to hybinos, the color seems to increase. At least from what I've seen. My best guess is that the solid tang background on hybinos or then second gen hypo bells is pattern dominant over the banding, so then the albino is taking on more of a hybino appearance with muted banding. Did that make sense/what you were looking for?
I have yet to get my hands on some Ghosts, but I plan to.
So this has just been my observation from pics from other breeders who work with them, and just by looking at the bells that have been bred to hybinos and then thier offspring. It's sort of like Trempers and what they used to look like, to all the variations of them now. What surprised me with they hypo bells is that funky pattern they tend to take on-like in your pic 2 and 12. I think it's cool though.

Sure thing Krista! She is still white aside from a few yellow tubercles... One of the favorites around here at the moment... ;)
