I am setting up my website design and wanted to see how you guys thought the layout for the gallery for each gecko looks.

Realize the page will be a black background.

Honest opinions would be great.

Thanks I just wish I could unleash the website on you guys I thinks it is pretty unique also. Having that on a black background makes a hug difference though.

I figured out the basic design of my website in the last two weeks now I just need to add the content. Took me all night long and 30 photo's to come up with that design.

I think most of it looks great! The wording needs a smidge more detail for my liking to go with the pictures. The pictures look awesome but then words are just like there. you might want to try putting a shadow on them also or even embossing them play with it and see what you like but it's all up to your own taste if you don't like it then people probably wont either.. and the eye shot might look better if you took more of the skin and faded it into the background.. just mho! But great

I like to take a bunch of ways, meaning detailing words and such like I said and really look at it, I could say something might look great and then actually look awful, so play with it!

Yea I get what you are saying with the words, however if you saw the rest of the website it blends and really goes together well. Curious though, how do you make a shadow on black ? Or were you just thinking like a emboss, or outer glow or something.

The Eye, yes I tried multiple things I tried to create a border around the eye, I might need to make that more pronounced, though I will try the fade though that would look cool and it is really good idea not sure if I have the skill to do that though. lol, Yeah for google!

And if you have a Smudge tool, you can get a pretty good fade-out just by poking at the edges of the image a bit. :laugh4:

Too much bigger and you won't be able to fit enough on a page, and anyone with dialup will want to kill you. :tongue3: Either very slightly bigger, or click-to-enlarge, would be my suggestion.
Though if neither of those work out, the picture will probably be fine this size. Some people just may wish to see a little more of a certain gecko's detail, especially on the eyes or when there's small or faint patterning of some sort involved.
