Hello! This is my first year breeding and I have six eggs from one female incubating right now. The first set hit 65 days on May 15th. From reading on here I have noticed that sometimes they take up to 80 days so I know I must be patient (Grrr). I did have a question though. Both eggs were very round and well formed when they were laid. They remained that way until about 2 weeks ago. Now, one has a pretty large dent on the top side and the other seems to be sinking in from the bottom side. They appeared gradually over time. They haven't changed color, don't smell and don't have any mold on them, so I am assuming they are still good. I know they are fertile because they glow very red and one has prominent veins when candled. I can also see dark splotches in some areas. I dripped a little water in the vermiculite around them last night as instructed on another thread. Anyway, to the question, why would they be denting and are they actually ok? Is there anything else I should do or need to do? Any advice is much appreciated!

I had some dent after 50 days and they all went bad. They never smelled, just deflated. I hope you have better luck & they all hatch soon.

They are either going to hatch very soon, or the baby died at some point. I have had both situations happen. If the eggs start to mold or smell, or if they collapse and seem to be turning into raisins, they've probably gone bad and if you want you can open the egg to see what's in there. There was a suggestion on another thread not to add water to eggs about to hatch because the increase in humidity could do damange. Do a search to find that post. It was from sometime over the weekend.

Well, I came home today and found one egg tossed over to the side and a beautiful little baby snuggled up against the edge of the tub! I was so excited, I couldn't believe it! It was also from the egg that I least expected to hatch. I got him all set up and now I just have to wait and see if the other one hatches. Thanks for the help!

Thanks everyone! The little guy seems to be doing great so far. I was wondering when I could expect the next one to hatch? The bottom of the egg is VERY dented. It doesn't look like there is enough room for it in there! I looked at it earlier and I can see the bands of the baby inside, so I know that it is in there, though I am not sure if it's alive.
Also just to verify, I am supposed to wait until the hatchlings' first shed before I feed it right? From what I've read on here, most people feed their babies mealworms, so that is what I plan to start it on. If there is any other advice or ideas out there from experienced breeders I could get about hatchling care I would appreciate it as well! Thanks again!
