I don't think this is normal?

My crestie spends all its time on or near the ground.

Some cresties may prefer this. Otherwise, it may spend time on the ground because the humidity isn't high enough or because it's having trouble for some reason sticking to the sides of the enclosure (if he's in a plastic tub, that may be the case).

I misted extra today and will continue doing that to see if that helps. I plan on putting in some live plants to help and possibly get a fogger. I have a water fall that's just sitting around, would it be safe to put that in there?

Some people do use water falls with cresties. If you feed crickets, though, they can drown in there and it gets kind of gross.

I added more fake leaves to the top and now that there's more hiding spots s/he has been off the ground! I guess it was too open up there. I also added a live plant to help with humidity and to have even more hiding spots.
