Well, i've been having a ton of issues with my male this season....I couldn't figure out why my girls weren't producing fertile eggs. Well, today I think I solved the mystery.
So today I went to give him a warm soak, because he doesn't shed properly...and the closer I look as I pulled a small piece off his abdomen, I realized that there's a TON of crusty whitish stuff attached to some nasty looking mucousy yellow stuff around the area of his hemipenes...for some reason, they were slightly everted (i guess he enjoyed his bath a little too much) and to me, it looks exactly like the kind of sperm plugs i've seen in some snakes and iguanas, but never a leopard gecko.
Anybody ever deal with this before? Should I do anything besides soak him? Will he be able to breed once the problem is resolved? I had a feeling there was a big problem with him.
