This moring I woke up, and went to get some cearl. I looked out the window, and there I saw a very pretty spider. At first I had no clue what type of spider it was. I did some researching for a few hours, and found out it was a european garden spider. I am usally afraid of any type of spider, but this guy was just so darn pretty. I had to have him. I hold him with gloves on, I am to chicken to hold him with my bare hands. The feelng of little spider feet on me.. makes my skin crawl. He is a charmer though. :main_thumbsup: I think it may be a male, due to it's only 1 inch and a half long. I have him in a 12 inchs long by 6 inches wide by 8 inches tall plastic container with a latching top/lid. I have him on bed-a-beast, with kinda thick branches scattered all around (some leaning up against the side of the cage). I also put a paper towel roll in there with him too. What else is there to do? Is that all?
I have a few very important questions that need to be answered:
1. When (or what) time do they start building their new webs. My little guy has not started building it yet.
2. Can I feed him medium mealworms for food? That is all I have.
3. Should I chop the meal worms into smaller bits, and then throw them into his web?
4. What is the odds that he will bite me? 0 to what?
5. How many times a week do I feed him, and how many meal worms as well?
6. How long do these type of spider live for?
7. How and do these spiders molt?

Please answer... :main_yes:

Thank you all.

Well,

Never mind. I introduced a female to my male, and all of a sudden the female attacted the smaller male and killed him. So, now I am spider less. Maybe I will find a nother soon.

Can you still answer my questions please?
