I got nibbled on!

Well I went and fed my baby last night, and picked her up right after I had touched the mealworms...

I could see her little mind working... "Hmm... Smells like food, but doesn't look like it. Oh well. I'll try it."

And she nibbled on my thumb. Gave up right away looking very confused and so I put her back and she went right to her dish and ate a mealworm.

Didn't do any damage to my thumb, didn't even hurt - but it was cute.
:main_rolleyes: I should have known better, I know from my snakes that after you handle a mouse you need to get the scent off - or risk getting bitten!

Just had to share. :2thumbsup:

Aw, it's a lot funnier to get bit by a baby Leo that is it a snake, huh? I had a small Ball Python try to eat my finger instead of the mouse once...that's why we only keep geckos now! lol

It's funny when you get bit by a snake though because they'll open their mouth as wide as they can and try to gnaw on you. Well, it's funny when it's a small snake anyway. Luckily I haven't been bitten by a big one yet. A few of the geckos I hatched last year will occasionally nip at me when I open their tub or aquarium top. One of them definitely seems meaner than the rest.

Also both of the sunglows I bought last year were nippy for a while. One of them would jump up and try to latch onto my fingers. She's relaxed quite a bit now though.

Yeah, luckily I haven't been bit by any of our adult Leos. We have a no biting rule in our house. If you bite me, you have to go! That's what the snake had to learn the hard way. lol It latched on to the end of my finger, wrapped my hand and started constricting. I screamed like I was on fire and Keith came running and unwrapped it.

So no more snake? What kind was it, a corn or a king? What did you do with it? I have about 30 kings and milks. I've found that if you approach them right they very rarely bite.

Got bit by an 8 foot burm once. Hurt more with those teeth coming out than going in.
That was my crash-course lesson in never approaching a snake directly towards its face. Especially a burm!
I've seen some of these leo bites. They seem to do some real damage!

It was a Ball Python. I don't know why it just hated me, it would stalk me as I walked near it's tank ad strike at the glass. I'm a pretty tiny person but I don't exactly look like a mouse. I don't know what his problem was...I guess he thought he was a Rattlesnake or something. LOL I would like to have an Albino Hognose one day.

Try a nice kingsnake. I've yet to be bitten by any of mine except for a few times the really young ones will nibble. Andean Mountain Milksnakes (Andes Mountain Kings) are really mellow and beautiful.

I've been bitten twice by my youngest gecko... the adults are way too mellow/lazy to bite me haha

Hmmm if I had the "bite me, you have to go" rule, my cats would have been gone a long time ago... and they are just playing when they bite. Its not hard or anything.
