I really do, and I know I'm gonna probably hear a bunch of ****** from the dog owners/dog lovers but seriously...

Ok my neighbors have two dogs, fine. But these two dogs bark non-stop the whole time they're outside. And that's not just for a few minutes or an hour, no, it's for hours on end. More than a few times they've let their dogs out at 6 in the morning and kept them out until 11:30-12 at night. Think about it... hearing dogs barking for 6 hours non-stop? Plus it's not like these dogs only bark at people they don't recognize, like most do. They bark at everything thing within sight - living or not - that moves.

What's even worse is that, since these dogs are completely untrained, they bite. Animal control has already taken the three times and somehow they're still here. Aside from being bitten myself (and when I told the owner, her response was "Oh just hit her and she'll let go"), a woman walking down the street, the mailman, and another neighbor of mine have all been bitten. The dogs are usually tied to the fence (which, isn't that illegal? To keep dogs on a short chain/leash with no where to go) but instead of tying them up out of reach, they have them to where they can still jump the fence. Sometimes they manage to get off the leash, which is why two of the people were bit. My neighbors and I share a walk way and nothing's worse than trying to get in or out while attempting to avoid getting bit by a dog.

I'm still amazed at how these people are allowed to keep these dogs this way...

Also, this doesn't mean I hate all dogs. It's just owners like this make it so hard for me not to hate them sometimes.

you should send those pictures to animal control. If anything, attaching their leashed like that can be a choking hazard and they can be charged with abuse.

Not to mention that, in the first picture, these dogs quite clearly have agression problems. A normal dog would stand at the fence and bark, and not try to jump over it. Those dogs should be taken away, plain and simple.

Those dogs are bored out of their minds! That is one reason why they are acting like that. Dogs need to be walked and ran to release their pent up energy, especially high energy dogs. To me if the "owners" don't even want to pay attention to them or take the time to care for them, why even have dogs?!? I don't get it! They obviously don't care about them, so why not give them to someone who will care about them and put them time in to make them good dogs. Try the ASPCA, I bet they will do something about it.

Aaarhahgh!!

I HATE any pet owners who don't properly care for their animals. These poor dogs have been abused/neglected. It's no wonder they're aggressive. They're a danger to everyone and to themselves and it's all their owner's fault! I'd fight hard to get them slapped with a fine (and possibly some jail time) and those dogs taken away.

That's just ridiculous.

Your neighbors are giving all of us good dog owners a bad rap...not to mention all of the well-trained dogs, too...

I agree.

Everyone goes around blaming the poor animal which is innocent but its crappy pet owners never taught them right from wrong. So while the owners are sitting pretty the entire neighborhood is terrorized, poor dogs are given a bad rep. and in the end will probably be put down. :main_angry:

I just don't understand why some people own animals.

Quite a few people on my street have been trying to change this but it's easier said then done.

But I agree, it's the bad pet owners that make others look bad. While I'll most likely never own a dog myself (was always more of a cat person anyway), I don't mind dogs that belong to owners who have actually spent the time to train them. There's a guy who lives just a few houses up and both of his dogs are always out and never do more than bark at someone they're not familiar with seeing. Another guy has a dog (he actually lives next door to these people with the two dogs above) and I would never know that he even has a dog if I hadn't seen him walking him.

thats really sad how they are keeping those poor dogs and their aggression and behavior is from how they have been treated in their life with no social interaction with people and dogs. i myself have 4 beagles that i love dearly and sadly i have one named mason that loves to bark alot i have tried everything to stop it spray collar, shock collar, etc. I dont think training would do much good hes very hard headed hes smart he knows not to bark but he just does and normally just at the air and trees and certain houses he dont like the people that live in them since people like to yell at him when he starts so hes crated while we are gone working and let out to potty and as long as hes not barking stays outside and he has a really really really loud bark and wont stop for anything almost i have recently had him neutered which i thought might curb some of it well i was wrong lol i love my dogs and i do my best with them but i dont want him going to another home cuz i know someone will just give him up because of his barking and i dont want that i dont want him to go from home to home or god forbid a kill shelter hes too good natured for that hes the sweetest dog just loves to bark. his mom and sisters dont bark much at all hardly unless someone comes around the yard. and we have had animal control and the police called on us and needless to say they dont believe us and say they will fine us when they come out again so now we are all paranoid at night when he barks outside so we have to run to catch him to bring him in before someone wakes up since it seems like they have sonic hearing for him barking when we are in our room and dont really hear him to much when hes barking and the tv isn't loud.

but my situation is different since our dogs are well cared for and treated right just they misbehave alot especially mason. i hope something gets done soon for you guys because it looks and sounds like those people dont deserve to be called dog owners and give all dogs a bad rap

I agree with those who say that the dogs are not at fault, but the fact remains that dogs are among the highest risk and highest nuisance pets. No matter how poor a job any gecko owner does, no gecko is going to bite the neighbors or bother the neighbors with barking for hours on end. I hate the thought of any animal suffering in silence, but we can't make everyone treat their animals properly. We can teach. We can preach. We can try to pass laws, but some people will still refuse to do the right things with their animals. When those people own dogs, their pets do more damage to the peace and security of the neighborhood.

There are times when I would like a dog, but ultimately, I don't have time or energy to do right by a dog. I keep my reptile collection relatively small so that I can do my best with each individual animal. I'd rather not have something than have a pet and not do a good job. Unfortunately, some people don't have that attitude.

Yeah its pretty messed up how people fail to care for their pets properly. A lot of times I see people in the petstore and I tell them that their critter needs this or that... and they are like "I will get it next time, I dont have the money." And ya know what?... Most of the time they dont get it or forget and think everything is fine and dandy and then come complaining to use that their critter is sick. Well I told you what you needed and you ignored my advice...

Critical thing Im thinking of is calcium powder for dusting bugs. That drives me insane that a person would not get something essential like that. Then complain that their pet has MBD. Thats abuse and way too many people get away with it.

Or this one guy that was keeping a ball python on pine. Im like it needs high humidity and pine is doing nothing for it. You need to get it off pine. If nothing else then put it on papertowel. And he nodded and pretended to agree with me, then shrugged me off.

If a dog is not given proper care then it obviously needs to be taken to someone who will.
I see many things wrong with that picture.
Dog is tied to the fence and can choke.
Dog is obviously being overly aggressive, if it has bitten people it needs to be retaught or put down.
Dog has no shade and can overheat.
Dog is not given exercise which is a requirement of owning a dog.

Im surprised they are even feeding the dogs...

Seriously something needs to be done about those dogs.

Your renting right?
can you complain to the landlord?
Explain that they are aggressive and that you did not sign up for this in your rental agreement. You fear for your wellbeing and theirs.

Harass the ASPCA or whomever you are dealing with animal cruelty. Call them everyday and write them letters. Eventually they will get tired of you calling and maybe they will do something.

I dont know just some ideas...

No, my parents own the house. And my neighbors own theirs. The ASPCA & Animal Control have told not only us but anyone who said anything that they would have to be physically there to see the behavior and since they're obviously not going to do that... I know everyone thinks I should be calling them day and night but there's only so much a person can do before they get fed up with you
