because I've bought some geckos from people here.. and I don't want them to think I'm a horrible owner.. because I'm not..

I've done everything possible, fecals, neg. she's eating.. but she's not gaining fast enough..

Background story before I get into more, I bought her at a franchised pet store, there reptiles are always nice and taken care of and they are friendly knowledgable people. Well.. obviously they didn't know she was gravid.. or.. just laying unfertile eggs, I will never know, because of the 3 clutches she laid, the eggs never made it far enough to candle to tell if they were fertile..
She was around 30ish grams when I got her.

But.. long story short ANOTHER female ... but this time she's eating, and she's suffering from someones stupidity..

And it's taking a toll on me, I have a raging headache.. because I don't know what to do.. I'm on the verge of tears, I've tried wax worms.. I tried the slurry but like Marcia said.. which I read somewhere I don't remember it's a double edge sword.. I want her to eat normal food and gain weight..

I feel like at this point, she is going to die. She wont go over to the warm side of her tank, she's lethargic.. and cold freezing cold.

Do you think she is trying to cool herself to not produce anymore eggs? Or is she doing this to shut down.. ?

What else do I try.. ?

How many more clutches am I going to have to agonize over?

I know why everyone says they want their females up to a certain weight because they don't want to go through this, if there was ever a poster child for not breeding your females too young, or under weight it would be this one.

(((HUGS))) that sounds miserable. I don't know anything about that but couldn't read w/o posting. My female isn't doing well either for different reasons and she won't leave the warm side of the tank and is lethargic... sounds like they should be friends.

She's to the point of where she is not moving at all.. I tried giving her some appetite stimulent.. but she may have been too tired to swallow.. I have a feeling she'll be dead by the morning.

Everyone on here knows that you're a great owner, I've seen your beautiful, healthy pets in threads, but sometimes there's just nothing you can do; at least she passed away in a warm home, with an owner that loved her.

I'm sorry for your loss- you did everything you could. If you get another tough health problem, perhaps you could try taking them to Tufts vet school? I don't know where you are in CT, but they're in Grafton, MA. They are the ones that told me that they have spayed geckos before and will for me (if my gecko in a similar situation doesn't stop laying). Dr. Mayer is a great vet and very knowledgeable about exotics.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Please don't beat yourself up over it though. You tried EVERYTHING you could. A horrible owner would have done nothing. (((((HUGS)))))))
