My daughter and I are first time posters, though we read the info here to get along. She has had a female for almost 18 months eating,going to the bathroom regularly and just shed yesterday. Tonight I came home from work and she was dead. She has not been losing any weight she weighed 55 grams last week. Just ate some crickets and mealworms in the last couple days. She was kept on paper towel hot side 96-99 depending on house temp. Cool side can get down to 74-75 at night usually about 79-80 during the day. I have no idea what happened. Any ideas to keep this from happening again are greatly appreciated.:main_huh:

Sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes things just happen. From what you described there is nothing that you did that sounds like there is really anything you did to cause her death, or could have done to prevent it. About the only thing I could think of that would be out of the ordinary is if she was egg bound. Has she ever laid any infertile eggs?

Never laid any eggs but was put together with a male only 2 weeks ago.

I'm so sorry to hear you found your gecko dead! It's unfortunate, but somethime this happens without a reason, unless you have a necropsy performed.
