so.i have my 2 beautiful leos and i was wondering..

has anyone ever used those vibrating bowls where you buy the dead food and just feed them that way? i dont think it sounds very healthy but my parents are tired of hearing the crickets.:argue: if its unhealthy they can deal with it but if its the same as feeding live food then i might try it.

my dad is always afraid that the UTH is going to start a fire or their overhead light will. if i put the aquarium on a metal rack thingy would that be safe enough? and the light...what should i do about that?? i've been using hot hands heating pads during the day but its kind of expensive. :(

if any of you guys have suggestions or advice PLEASE tell me. i only want the best for my babies. :bigcry: im feeling very helpless and i dont know what to do!!!
im worried about my leos so please help!

This thread should be on Housing.

I don't use them, I use only dishes, I put mealworms and they eat, sometimes I feed on crickets but not that much, you can feed with mealworms.

I have use undertank heat pads and they work fine, never got issues of something burning, it's safe, I use Zoo Med heat pads.

You can check on "Housing" and you will find some cages and enclousures.

You can feed mealworms and superworms in place of the crickets. With the UTH problem, I don't think a metal rack will work, as the heat from the UTH will be lost to the whole metal rack. I have all my glass tanks on a wood cupboard, but I put a sheet of cork board in between for insulating purpose; probably add a bit of safety to fire hazard.

You can buy small crickets and they don't chirp.

Along with feeding mealworms, that's what I do because we live in an apartment and the chirping is loud!!

If I do get large crickets, I just take out the boys and feed them off.
