I was pretty happy

obviously she's not gonna get all her food this way, but it's cool that she'll take it out of my hands like that

i was planning on one cricket by hand and then all the rest like normal everyday. I don't want her to get dependent on it, but i also want her to stay comfortable with it

That's a great way to get them tame.
Just put a fat yummy waxie in the palm of your hand and they have to
get on it to eat the worm.
Of course, you dont want to make a habit of hand feeding, or you will
spoil them and make them very lazy ;)

Sometimes, what I do is dust the cricket, than hold it by its back legs between thumb and finger, and put it a few inches in front of the leo.
Be sure to hold BOTH legs though, because if you only have one, it will
break off.
Crickets dont seem to mind loosing a leg to make an escape, but they
dont want to loose both.

Yep! that is true.

So, scratch the "feeding with fingers" idea!

New plan; use plastic or wooden feeding tweezers when you have to.

Of course, its always best to let them chase their own prey.

I always drop the food in, one at a time. I dont drop in another until they
have eaten the last one. That way, I dont have to go chasing around
trying to find un-eaten crickets!
