I was leo hunting at last sundays Montreal Reptile Expo, specifically for females, bell albinos and blazing blizzards. I saw a guy who had a nice sized blazing blizzard female (adult) for 90$, I was torn between that or a hatchling beautiful intense bell albino female, he said he'd sell me both for 120$, deal.

Guess what, the blazing blizzard has very obvious pre anal pores. He has the bulge, HE is a HE. I gotta admit I'm disappointed. Not all hope is lost though, best case scenario, my Blazing Blizzard who is the same size around(as the new one), may be a female, it is very hard for me to say, where the bulge is supposed to be is whats making it hard for me to determine right now. Its not as flat as my definite-female trempers area but not big like the males, and the pre anal pores aren't obvious yet, so maybe theres hope? Worse case scenario is that I have two male blazing blizzards but the one I bought sunday is old enough to breed to my tremper girl anytime, I'll save mt BB for the new bell girl in a year or two. If the bell ends up being a male...well I think I'd explode.

Anyways heres a few shots of the two different BBs (pretty sure my new guy isn't BB but rather Tremper Patternless):

The Gecko (he's nice but A female wouldve been nicer :()

Heres a look at his vent area, clearly Male, shouldve looked at the show before buying, I'm an idiot:

And here would be my BB that I've had for a while right now, which sex do you think it is? :

Pores look male, but you'd say it's a female? She/He is hovering around 42 grams, heres a picture of her size, maybe you can tell based on her structure?:

I think you have a male due to pores and possibly the angle is reducing the bulges of the hemipenes. Very odd for sure.

BTW,blizzards don't get coloring beyond the neck, that's a patty alright.

So Paul, If I bred this guy to my Tremper Albino Female the result would be only albinos het patty or could I get some patties in there too and how would the offspring look?

tremper patty x tremper make all trempers het patty and they will look like normal trempers unless the TPA has hidden patterning genes.

Alright and then to get the TPA I'd breed the hets? Are the results bad 6 legged monstrosity geckos if I'd breed brother to sister?

breed the hets back to the TPA would be the wise idea, then outcross from there.

If the TPA is a male, cook for females and if female, buy a tremper patty male :D

pores image looks male, but no bulging... could be either, but I lean towards male. The last image is female to me.

Oh ok, the two vent pics are of two DIFFERENT leos I shouldve been clearer on that, the first to me is male also no question, bulges out big time in person, its the second that I'm uncertain about. Second is the Blazing Blizzard (not the TPA) that I got in february, the TPA that I bought last sunday was labelled Female BB and looks like a Male TPA to me. If I breed TPA to BB what would come out?

Thanks for all the help btw Paul.

that cross would yield tremper double het patty/ blizz and they very well could have some speckling from the blizzard gene.

SHHHH, I have mack rainwater versions about to be ready to mate ;)

Awesome, I think I'll breed this guy to my 5 yearold tremper albino and then maybe to the blazing blizzard female if she turns out to be female, lol. This guys got to get more food in him though, I haven't confirmed visually that he's eating yet, whereas the little bell girl i have has already eaten almost 16 crickets since sunday.
