Hey all, I've been thinking about picking up a few Leapord gecko's. I haven't owned any before. I've been reading over a lot of care sheets and researching everything I need, but I have a few questions.
1. Do you have to dust the insects and have a dish of calcium in the tank?
2. Do you put calcium and a vitamin supplement in the dish?
3. Can you guys tell me how you set up your supplements and what you use?

I've owned reptiles before so I'm pretty sure I've got everything else covered. This supplement stuff is new to me.
-Thanks

trust me i know how odd it can seem reading up on the "Calcium with D3" or "without" "dusting" with Leopard geckos. now some people just use 2 dishes One with dust and one water dish. Basically just Drop food in the cage

You want 3 dishes "Food dish" "water dish" and a "Calcium dish" make sure there is "NO D3" In the calcium...Just your basic kind is fine, Keep this in the cage at all times....feed them everyday or every other day...Out of the week. Pick 2 days apart to "dust" that Food you give them that day. and your set!

the TOP -(blue) Vitamin dust (Something you add every so often, you can buy this its just Vitamins but don't have too.)

MIDDLE (pink) - Calcium with D3 you use this to dust the food 2 times out of a week.

Last (green) Calcium with NO D3..Keep a low dish of this stuff in the geckos cage at all times!

this is what a "pet leopard geckos" cage should look like.

this is what a "rack system of leopard geckos" Can look like.

Hope this helps!

Omg! Thanks so much. This is probably the most helpful post I've ever seen on any forum. You cleared up my confusion but I just want to clarify on vitamin dust(top blue one)
You use that like once a week?

Don't forget, you need a warm hide and should have cool hide, plus a moist hide, some people use the cool hide as a moist hide/cool hide combo...here is one of my tanks, it's kind of simple, but you get the idea.
