Just figured out that Nike (the larger one) is a female and Shakers (smaller one) is a male. Not only do I have to seperate them because of issues with not-getting-along-so-well, I have to watch for behbehs. Is there any chance a gecko around a year old of mounting one much bigger, like 1 or 1.5 years old?

Yes,definitely. If the urge is there, the gecko will try. If they're still together, unless they're really young, it may be too late, and some of the "not getting along" may have been something else.
