he keeps holding his mouth open and sounds like he is 'blowing bubbles' i have read many websites and books about this problem which say to help cure it to make sure the heat on the viv is the correct temperature or to put them into some warm water for abut 20 mins.
I was wondering whether anyone knows anymore and whether the type of substrate within the viv may have some effect.
I will be taking it to the vet soon but unfortunately i wont be able to get there for a while, and just want to help to do something in the meantime.
Hope you can help

I think that poor husbandry can lead to respiratory infections, but not all respiratory infections are due to poor husbandry. My male supersnow had been making croaking noises and seemed to have stuff coming out of his nostrils. I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with a possible respiratory infection. The vet actually removed what was either a mucous or pus plug from one nostril. He has always been adequately heated with low humidity. His 2 female cagemates are fine. The vet put him on a course of antibiotics (baytril) which is almost finished and he seems to be fine now.
