I Think This May Work!

Okay, so I have a gecko who is not the least bit interested in mealworms. So this is my idea-I put a mealworm in my cricket keeper in the hopes that the crickets will gang up on it (similiar to a gecko) and eat it. That way, my gecko gets the benefit of having it's preferred insect WITH the nutrition that crickets don't provide that mealworms have. For example, mealworms' are full of chitin, I think. Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes...talk about "gut-loading". HAHAHA. Cheers!

I'm not up on mealworm/cricket relative nutrition so I can't comment specifically, but somehow I don't this method will make much difference nutritionally. It can't hurt, though, except the mealworm.

I tricked my leo into eating a superworm by putting in with the crickets when I feed her, she was so busy striking and chewing that she didnt even realize she ate it until it was already in her throat. Then she stopped a minute, and went on eating.

Haha sweet 2bacop. I awoke this morning to see that the crickets ate the mealies. I put a cricket by my gecko and it snapped it up.
