Anyone that breeds mealies your opinion please.
If our/your mealworms are growing pupating, turning into beetles and reproducing and those mealie babies are growing, do you think they are safe and problem free?

Thanks

I breed and produce my own, I think they will be fine. The reason I'm haveing problems with how many I produce still can't feed all the animals so have to make a small orders.

I would suggest also breeding supers also very easy. Gives your leopard geckos variety and if one colony is hurting then you have the other colony to back it up untill the other one gets back up there again. Plus then you'll have so many difrent sizes of feeders.

Good luck, from what I have read about you, you have a fairly large collection might be hard to produce enough to keep up with your animals.

We have got a colony of dubias going plus the small colony of mealies and I have started to see if we can breed kings. I have set them up in one of my hatchling racks for warmth. in the hatchling tub I have placed 8 small solo condiment cups on the bottom. In those I have placed a little bit of feeder feed and placed one king in each. - then I placed a piece of plastic egg crate on top of those and then another 8 cups. In those I have put a little bit of soil and one king, in two of the cups I have put 2 worms each to see if they will still change. I know some will die off. This is the test phase. if I get them to pupate and turn into beetles we can do it on a bigger scale next time.
