Almost a year ago I recieved two beautiful geckos. One boy and one girl. Well the boy is super healthy and I never have any trouble with him. He can be a little jumpy but we deal with it. Well, the female has thrown me for a loop. She hates me. Honestly hates me. It took me a long time to even get her to eat and when she shed she would never get it off her toes and she would never eat the shed. So I would have to soak her everytime she shed and she would click at me and bit the whole time. Well I recently thought she was pregnant and put some cocoa fiber in her hide instead of paper towel. Well she just shed today. I was planning on doing the dreaded soak tomorrow but tonight when I went to check on her it was all gone. Her toes were clear and not a drop of shed in her cage. I was amazed and so relieved. If I would have known I would have changed out her hide months ago. So for those of you who have a lazy mean shedder try to switch the hide medium.

I recently switched to sphagnum peat moss (made sure there were nothing extra that could be harmful). I got a huge bail of it from the local nursery. it was about 18.00, but will last me an extremely long time. He seems to like it a lot. He's even going in there when he isn't shedding.
