Another thread got me thinking about this question. If you could change anything about this hobby what would it be?

Id make it so that you have to answer a 20 question questionnaire before you buy one so that stupid people cant buy leos anymore because im tired of hearing stuff like, "my leopard gecko and my crested gecko get along great together in their tank!" OR "do i have a leopard gecko or a fat tailed gecko, could someone tell me" OR "why do my 5 leos in a ten gallon tank keep fighthing?"

I know that if I was adopting out geckos potential owners would have to prove that they already have adequate housing and food for it, with a receipt or a picture or something. But realistically a lot of people wouldn't adopt it because they're too stupid to buy the appropriate housing and feeders BEFORE they get the gecko. Sigh.

I'm confused on your answer. You don't want breeders close to you,or you don't want them to be large breeders, or you don't want theme taking care of their geckos? Not trying to be mean, just want to understand.

Sorry. I simply meant to say, I'd like there to be more breeders in my area. Or atleast ones that know what they are doing. I talked to one guy who was a small time breeder but he didn't believe in using a UTH. He told me that all his geckos just had a heat lamp in their enclosures. :\ (I use lamps too but that's for ambient air temps because my basement home is cold. I ALWAYS have a UTH on on the warm end of the tank though.)

I would change the fact that people cut people down at the knees with prices. Some people have super cheap geckos, then offer say free shipping on those geckos. That to me seems like trying to off load just because they didn't plan correctly.

I agree. I don't get it lol. I've tried to read through the morph section here and I give up after 3 threads lol

Another thing would be when more experienced leo "people" are either rude to newbies when they ask questions or when they act like they know everything and their opinion is the only one that matters. I've heard some reptile shop employess be pretty darn rude to customers that are new to reptiles
