Ok I have a question I am about to get another gecko soon and was wondering if it would be smart to get two babies that are not sexed from ++++++++ for a cheaper price than the one at my local pet store which cost more
It's a risk. If you get two males, they may fight and you will have to spend even more on a separate enclosure. A male and a female may breed, or the male will stress the female out trying to court her, and that would mean a separate enclosure again, or spending money on up to twenty or so hatchlings.
It is ultimately your decision. I would look at the health and conditions of the two locations and make the decision based on that.
If your local pet store has people who are truly knowledgeable about geckos, it may make the most sense to get one there. Although I have gotten healthy geckos from the big box pet stores, it's not recommended. Please post in the appropriate sub-forum. I'm moving this thread to the right place.
If you can get two babies at a great price and you know the family history of the babies I would say absolutely. Worse case scenario you get 2 males or 2 females. Either way, if they are of good quality and good bloodlines all you would have to do is get one other female or one male to make some awesome babies. I always encourage buying unsexed babies, especially if the babies are high end.
