Im delicate like a rose petals myself :D

I would have.. well Im kinda twisted so I wont say. Maybe one of the less creative ones I can come up with is you could go to her house and set up a GIANT fake hand thats connected to some pullies so when she opens the door it smaks her in the face. Than next to her door on the other side put a piece of plexi glass with a note that says "Where ya gonna go now little human?!" thats one of my least violent ideas. :D:D

oh, so now it's a man thing when you hurt animals...

I just learned something today.

i think the "man thing" had to do with the whole girlfriend/life partner situation rather than the animal abuse

Thank you Tamara! Finally, another girl willing to inflict violence! Yes! We unite! lol.

I hope she's doing ok. Let us know if she's ok and isn't afraid of you.

Did you ever get the girl to verify that she was smacking your gecko around or is all this just going off what your friend said she did?

Does this friend and the girl he accused have any problems between them?

Are you positive she did this?

If so, well and good.

If not, well, then typically human would be my first response.

Thanks for your replies and concerns everyone. Leon and I appreciate the support and I'm glad to know that I wasn't just overreacting.

I've been monitoring Star and she's doing fine. Last night she was standing on the glass and let me hold her like I usually do. She's a tad bit jumpier and cautious than usual, but she still accepts my hand and she's eating normally.

In reference to the party - when I normally have parties at my house, people are either outside (I have a concrete patio behind the main fenced entrance to my house where people smoke cigs, drink, be goofy, and skate) or they're in the family room partying - no one goes and stays in the living room where the gecko tank is and they all respect my wishes of leaving them alone and keeping "indoor voices" around them. People like to look, but they never bother my geckos in any way. That's why I appreciate my friends because they know that I'm really protective about my babies.

I just met this girl two weeks ago. The first time she came over, she didn't notice the gecko tank or didn't care that I had a tank. We just hung out in the family room for a few hours and then she left. The second time she came over was the night before I posted this thread - and of course, I was extremely upset. So technically, I don't know her, she just moved here, and I don't know where she lives... Sucks for me! So I don't think I'd be pressing any charges, especially since Star is doing OK.

I told my friend that he should have told me the night she did it so I could have confronted her, but he said he handled it and didn't want to tell me til the next morning because he didn't want any "drama." He got her to stop and leave it alone and that's what was important to him (he's been helping me and Leon take care of Star since we bought her). My friend and the accused didn't have any conflict whatsoever - that night was the first night I introduced them.

I messaged the girl the next day saying how upset I was, how she was cold, disrespectful, and that she had pissed me off - and that I never wanted to see her again... and all she said was "[/i]Oh well, it's just a lizard,[/i]" and since then she hasn't texted, emailed, or called (which is weird coz since I met her, she has texted and called AT LEAST 10 times a day to hang out and showed up at my house unannounced for the Super Bowl... I wasn't home at the time, but my brother was and it freaked him out.. so all of this was already odd to me since we all JUST met her and her girlfriend).

I'm just glad the whole ordeal is over, that Star is safe, and that she's not trying to come over. I will press charges though, IF she comes by unannounced again - people keep telling me she might come by and do something to my house because she knows where I live and I may have pissed her off with my message the day after the party. Let's just hope not coz that would suck too :main_thumbsdown:

I'm glad Star is doing okay. Geez her comment about "just a lizard" would really upset me though....

I am glad your leopard gecko is doing well and almost back to normal. When we have company, noone touches any reptiles without asking first. All the turtles won't mind but I still have a couple geckos that don't like to be handled. Then depending on age and experience with geckos depends which geckos I let them touch, pet or hold.

I had a house guest's son ask to SEE my snakes many years ago. I told him literally "look with your eyes, not with your hands" and went on to say "DO NOT open any of those cages, some will kill you"

I heard a loud thump and a scream not 5 minutes later and went and removed a 15 foot indian python's mouth from his arm with my room mate.

That was the last person to EVERY see my snakes unattended and thank god it wasn't my big retic girl who would have surely went for the head.

My reptiles are under lock and key now because of the stupidity of some people.
