We hatched a handful of "Emerald" and "Emerines" from the het Raptor stuff. Ours really kept their green too. They are really cool. Essentially though, these were just another way for Tremper to make money on the normal/het offspring (quoting some others, the "by-product") of his higher end stuff IMO. While I'm on this...how the hell do you make an albino Emerald, ugh. I don't get him sometimes. It's ashame you can't have hets :main_rolleyes: Anyways, I'm not trying to knock on him ;)

I do think linebreeding will help a lot, but I don't think we'll ever see a green gecko from the Emeralds, just really green-ish ones. Same goes with line breeding the tangs for green. Tangs always go through that dirty stage and look green, but it goes away. Some may stay in color so, there is a shot though. At least the het Raptor stuff seems the hold the color though...from my experience.

I'll go with you.

I don't see any green--even on the parents.

Ron Tremper sucks.

Yay!! Company!! :main_evilgrin:

What's very sad is that these people have invested boatloads of cash for nothing...........and Ron Tremper gets away with it. :main_thumbsdown:

It also sucks that he sells Emerine "hets" - how the HELL do you have a het for a linebred trait??!?!?! :main_huh:

He may have given much to the gecko world, but this kind of stuff is bogus.

I agree Ryan, we'll never see a green gecko. I've had greenish geckos that had WAY more green on them than some of the emerines I've seen. I think it's kind of nifty, but it's no new morph, and it's a shame it's being marketed as such.

I have seen some emerines and greenish geckos that I thought were GORGEOUS - just because they were very cool looking leos - not because they were green. ;)

You know what...I take it all back. You are just jealous you aren't as cool as Tremper. He's a marketing genius.

Ok. I'm going to go throw up now :D

I do agree though. They're really cool, but nothing really fine tuned to market yet. Het for a linebred trait... :shakes head:

You found me out!!!! :main_laugh:

He is indeed a marketing genius, no question there.

What really bugs me is that people are posting pictures of their "emerine" babies, and I *know* they've been taken full advantage of. I can't get excited about their projects - and it makes me feel really bad. I like to be positive and excited about people's stuff - and this just makes me feel extra bad for people who trusted a "big name" in the hobby and got stiffed. :main_no:

I feel the same way. Especially for those who bought "het" emerines.

I have seen some pics of some interesting looking geckos with green - but the ones he had for sale in Daytona were so... not green.
