Impaction: Why and what to do?

Hello, remember the Bell Albino Circleback?

I noticed two white areas on each side of the gecko's belly, a black spot, a little reddish zone on the anus, pronounced blood vessels and other two or three black areas on each side.

I've been reading about impaction and it sounds like it. I filled up a Tupperware with 32ºC water and soaked the gecko for about 10-15 min.
After some time being soaked the gecko started to evacuate some fecal matter, although not everything was evacuated.

The black spot, white areas and pronounced blood vessels:

Reddish zone:

The box where I house the gecko has a constant 32ºC on the warmer side and 24-26ºC on the cool side. The subtract I use is paper towel.
What can i do? Is it only impaction or something else?

Thank you.

PS: if the gecko doesn't defecate tomorrow or so, I will take him to the vet.

I do not see the problem... You are looking at the underbelly of a juvinile albino leopard gecko... You will see all kinds of organs, fat bodies, and blood vessels... I do not see anything in those photos that point to impaction... If you are keeping your leo on paper towels, what can be causing the impaction??? It also apears to be at a healthy weight and the body condition seems to be just fine...

I've had him for 4 days, since I got him from my friend he hasn't defecated yet. He was maintained on repti-carpet, I guess.

The gecko hasn't defecated yet, but I have helped him with hot water and he did it! :D

Thanks.

I agree.. Leo's bellys a damn near transparent what your seeing are his organs and blood vessels which should be there, if not then you'd have a serious problem.

As for him using the bathroom. He might be stressed and not eating enough or his diet doesn't have enough moisture. When I got mine she didn't eat for an entire week so she didn't use the bathroom from the entire week. Since he's new to your home give him atleast a week to relax and get adjusted.

Your gecko's abdomen looks completely normal. The black spot is it's gall bladder, and the two whitish areas you see on either side of the abdomen are eithr fatty bodies or lymphatic fluid.

It is not unusual for newly acquired geckos to not want to eat or have anything to poop for a few days in a new environment. Your best bet would be to just leave it alone until it gets settled in and acclimated before trying to handle it excessivley. Soaking it will just stress it our further at this point.

Also noteworthy is that your gecko DID defecate. If it was impacted that most likely wouldn't have been the case. And as Gregg stated, body appearance is healthy. Give the little guy some time. :)

I don't see anything out of the ordinary, just looks like a Little fat juvenile Leopard Gecko.

Thank you all for replying, much appreciated! :D

I will not handle him for the next weak, if it's not necessary.

Thanks again.
