Can someone clear this up for me;

Taking into account all this 'moist' and 'humid' hide business, how many hides do i need and on what side (cool or hot) and is there anything i need to put in them? like bedding? If so what works best?

Cheers a bunch for the advice! :main_thumbsup:

It depends on your tank size but you only need one dry hide and one humid hide. If there's room for more in the tank then it's great to add a couple more. Our geckos tend to arrange their hides wherever they want them. We use moist paper towels in our humid hides because it easy to clean if they use the restroom it it.

I have 3 hides in each tank. One on the cool side, one on the warm side and a humid hide with damp plantation soil. I used to use moss but it was so humid that it went moldy after a couple of days so I switched to soil. Mine like it better anyway.

I have around 6 different hides arranged around my viv, plus a humid hide. I usually only see the geckos in 3 of the total hides in the tank. Even though they dont use some of them, they are there for their comfort. I have noticed the smaller, darker, tighter fitting hides get used the most... so maybe this will help.
