Hello all :)

i just moved into my dorm at school and my leo went from a 20L to a 10 and i think he doesnt like it much because he keeps tryign to climb out. my question is about his light. he has a UTH and the temp in the room is pretty warm. would he be ok without his heat lamp? i need to put him under my bed behind some stuff bevcause your not allowed to have them in dorms but i would never leave my little guy behind:main_no: and they do 2 room checks a year but i dont know when they are coming and they arent allowed to move anything but i dont want them to see the red light and move stuff and discover him! any suggestions or advice? please help me.

Red light is great for viewing for your enjoyment, but not needed unless you are having a really hard time keeping your temps up around 90.

As was already stated-you do not need the red light

If the room is warmer than where your both lived before plus the tank is smaller and if there is not much air circulation around the tank-the tank may be too hot and that might be why he is trying to climb out

Check the air temp of the tank as well as the temp on the floor over the uth

You dont need a light, but it's nice to be able to see your leo at night esp when you feed. Any low watt red or blue bulb would be fine.

Are you using a thermostat?
Your leo may be climbing the walls because it's too hot. But most likely, he just needs time to acclimate to his new home! :main_yes:
