Incubation question

My adult female Leo is with eggs so I have been doing a lot of research on diy incubators that don't cost to incredibly much. The question I have is that the ambient temp of the house in the summer time is 78 - 80 degrees so I was wondering which would be the best way to go when incubating the eggs.

Thank you

I'm not sure what you're asking. At 78-80, clearly the eggs will need heated incubation. If that temp remains constant then you don't have the problem of the ambient temp exceeding the incubation temp which would make the temp in the incubator rise no matter what your thermostat is set to. By contrast, my ambient temp in a non-air conditioned home in New England can sometimes reach 89 so I have an incubator that both cools and heats. The only concern is that if your female is already with eggs and you're still deciding how to build the incubator, you may be sacrificing the first clutch because you may not be ready in time. There's an article in Gecko Time (www.geckotime.com) written by a forum member about how to make an incubator out of an old fridge.

See if you can get a Mini fridge thats someone is getting rid of.Safely discard the compressor and Freon gas.Best to get it professionally done.Doesnt cost much.Drill a hole in the back for the heat tape and the theromstat extension cords .Buy 18" of 11" heat tape and tape it to the bottom of the fridge.Very easy
