I was wondering what type of incubation substrate works the best. I've heard about vermiculite but what others are there? Thanks for any help.

Perlite is the only one that comes to mind, all though I've heard top soil as well.

I've never looked into that one though.

I'm trying the super hatch stuff this year, and i'm loving it so far. Although my oldest eggs are from the end of december, i'm loving them. I actually moved three cups of eggs from hatchrite to super hatch because they were deflating due to old hatchrite, and they plumped right up. It's so much easier than vermiculite or perlite, and it's reusable.

I just looked at the lll site. That looks very interesting. Any others out there with input on super hatch experience?

Look on repashy forums and you will find people on there who have used it.

I say vermiculite and perlite are great. Hatch Rite is pretty good.

I'm gonna use Sphogum (SP?) moss this year. Think that will work ok? It's keeping moisture in VERY well in a no-hole container. Anyone had success with that?
