I'm using something similar to the hova bator its like the little giant but, I have it without the fan and it works fine. I've heard that the turbofan model creates more coolness then heat by the fan and that its hard to keep temp control.

I have the same setup(without the fan) and did just fine(as long as the room temps stay decently stable that is)

I agree.. no fan. It will dry out your incubation substrate too much, especially if there are holes in the deli cups. The key to using an Hovator successfully is to allow plenty of time for the temperature to stabilize before making any adjustments and it should be allowed to sit without opening and closing it for more than 24 hours before making those adjustments. The wafer-type temp controller is pretty prehistoric, so opening and closing it will cause the temperature to oscillate up and down by up to +/- 5 or 6 degrees before it settles. I used Hovabators for many years with no real issues, but found that deli cups that were stacked produced males when they were on top closest to the heat element, and females on the bottom where it was cooler. I wound up bypassing the wafer controller and using a decent thermostat, and used quart-sized baggies with water in them at the very bottom as a heat sync. Worked OK until I bought a couple of Nature's Spirit incubators which are great.

I have this one; no fan. You can get it here. You'll need a good thermostat with it. I use this here, but it's over $100.

Altogether, my second incubator, the Think Geek mini fridge, was cheaper at about 98 dollars (no separate thermostat necessary). Think Geek doesn't sell it anymore, but I saw it on ebay for 60 dollars.

Good luck finding a suitable one! You need to compare prices, because the same product is offered at different places with 20-30 dollars price difference!
