Hey everyone Ive been looking for a nice decent incubator for reptiles or leopard geckos to be more exact. I have seen a lot of people use hovabator but do they have a thermostat built in? or you have to buy that extra?

I then found this one while searching online to buy an incubator, they are expensive and wanted to know if anyone has used one or something similiar to it? Juragon
This one is similar but i think it rotates the eggs. r-com 20

The hovobator is a cheap serviceable incubator that should work well unless you're planning to incubate hundreds of eggs. It does come with a thermostat but most of us don't trust it. It's best to spend another $100 or so and buy a proportional thermostat and hook it to the hovobator. I bought the Big Apple Herpstat and it has been fine and a good price.

I just liked how that incubator had everything needed, thermostat and even has a humidifier type thing you tell it at what percent you want the humidity to stay at.

Oh I wasn't saying don't get it. It looks like a gorgeous incubator. The question is whether you are able to or want to spend that kind of money. If you can, go for it.

I've been eyeing that one to but have never seen one in person.

You should get one and let me know how it works out for you..
lol im just messing, I wish someone on here had maybe used one and could give me a small review on it. They sure look nice and would get the job done perfectly.

Just purchased my Nature's Spirit Incubator. Can't wait for it to get here. I really thought long and hard about building one and the fun/joy that it will bring, but in the end....I just did not have the time, so now I wait in the mail for my NS incubator.

I just got a hova bator and set it up. Now im testing it a bit see how the temps hold up without a thermostat, has one built in but may not be reliable as some have said.

I use a homemade incubator. I keep the eggs in sealed gladware and check them at least weekly, which gives them fresh air at the same time. The incubator itself is a Sterilite container with about 3" of water. The water is heated by an aquarium heater. The gladware just floats around. The heater is very accurate and very easy to adjust. Since water holds heat very well the temp inside the incubator stays very stable.

If you are going to spend the money, the Juragon and Natures Spirit incubator is the same price....minus the proportional thermostat of your choice.

With the Juragon, you are using the same incubation medium for all your eggs....from first hatching to the last one. Biggest draw back that I can see is that mold can set in from the excess egg fluids from the first hatchling before the last egg is even ready to emerge. You can also get your clutches mixed up should you have multiple hatchlings....so much for your careful record keeping of which pairings.

I think Natures Spirit will offer you more options. You can isolate each clutch by labeling the container (deli cup), you are able to keep track of each hatchling and not get mixed up should you have multiple hatchlings in a single day. Should you want to expand, you are free to do so as you have all the room you will need.

Then again, a Hovabator will do just fine should you want a minimal set up.

My NS only fluctuates .1 degrees and has tons of room! I can't imagine using anything else.
