How long does it take for an infertile egg to go bad?

Instead of waiting, get yourself a good LED flashlight and candle the eggs after 72 hours of being laid. If you see a red "bulls eye" near the top of the egg then they are fertile.

Some times infertile eggs can go for 50+ days or (full length hatch term) without going bad.

Or else just incubate it till it either hatches or stinks.
