Infertle?

I have four eggs in the incubator. The parents are not my leos.

My friend (well neighbor who I associate with) has leos, and his mom was steamed when the leos she hate so much laid eggs. He is only a kid, about 13 or 14. So I took them off his hands, instead of throw the eggs away, like they were about to do. It is day 22, and I had them since day 1, lucky I dropped in.

All four candled fertle, but two of them, which are clutchmates are now kinda yellow, but white, when candled. There are no signs of veins, or a baby now. They had veins a week ago. I am worried now, because they have gotten bigger, but they appear infertle. There is no mold at all on the eggs.

What do you think? The parents were of darker pigments.

Maybe the developping stopped, I had that problem with one female... after the first 3-4 weeks the eggs turned yellow when candled. ..

But it's normal that after some weeks the red turns into white and the venes are barely seen. The pigment develops later (~week 6, depends on the incubation temp) - so it could be just the normal developping. Leave the eggs cooking until they change the color and smell very bad - or they hatch !

I hope they do hatch.

I just went there. The mom seems like a rainwater albino and the dad is a chocolate albino--he is gorgeous. I am crazy about Chocs. I want to have a breeding pair of them someday, but they are hard to find.

Sandra pretty much said it all, good luck with those eggs!!! That's great that you were there that very day the eggs were laid! What a shame it would have been if they had thrown away the eggs, especially since the pop is chocolate

The mom might also have a fertility problem, or just have weak babies.

Last year, she had eggs by a different father, about 8, none made it, and the one that we thought would make it got very big and pink. Then it started peeling and still was very pink, and it exploded when we went to check on it one day. We opened it, it was all white crap. There was a lump in the egg, and we felt it with tweezers, but it was the same color as the gunk, and looked like it. Might had been the baby, might not.

I wouldn't give up on them yet, Just leave them in the bater till they are moldy and smelly..

Also, the eggs are being incubated at 87-90 degrees. They are incuvbated in a air conditioned room. The container is in an aqurium, with a lid, and the babies hatch, because I had 7 babies come out of that so far, and about two eggs die, and the rest infertile. They are in perlite.
The Friday coming up will be day 28, and the friday after that will be day 35. I can't wait till day 35 and after. Because the longer they take, the more I will know the truth. How long do you think it may take these eggs? About 40 days?

Last eggs at 86 --- 87 took 39 days for me.
