would that be alright with leopard geckos for heating? I saw this at the store and was about to buy it.

Hmm... I guess that would be okay. But a heat mat is ALWAYS the best choice because leopard geckos need belly heat. One of those could be used to provide background heat though.
Another concern would be, can your geckos climb anywhere near enough to it because they would be sure to recieve burns.
Will it be on a thermostat?

i have a red bulb (not that one, i think mine is zilla) that i only use in winter, in conjunction with my uth because it dosnt get warm enough for them. and even still i only use it during the day.
