My girlfriend found this centipede or millipede in my giant day gecko vivarium. I've had the enclosure for about 4 months now and don't know how it got in there. Is it harmful? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1403275597.490159.jpg

I'd say it's not an issue but it would really depend on what the species is. Chances are your gecko would not come in contact with it. What are you using for substrate?

I can't tell if it's a centipede for millipede from the picture. Millipedes feed on decaying plant matter, spilled food, and poop. I add these to my terrariums whenever I find them since they help keep it clean, along with pill bugs and springtails. Centipedes are carnivorous and can bite. I remove them when I see them, but odds are they won't come into contact with an arboreal gecko. They will eat my millipedes and other cleaner bugs though, which I don't like.

Will the geckos try to eat your cleaners? I've wanted to add them for a while but I'm afraid of my geckos trying to eat the cleaners or the cleaners harming them.

Most of the cleaners are too small for the geckos to be interested. If you're talking about arboreal geckos, they may not even notice them.

My leopard geckos eat mealworms, and tend to notice the smallest movement which is why I'm worried. Do you think if they ate them it would be a problem?
