Interesting Behaviour

Twice now, I have observed my 8 week old gecko doing some strange things...or at least they seem strange (but cool nontheless). He puts his head close to the ground, sticks his butt up and slowly waves his tail around and back-and-forth straight up in the air.

Does anyone know why they do this and is it normal?

I'll try to get a pic or video next time I see him doing it. It really is pretty amusing.

Thanks in advance!

Ive never seen my geckos do that but I believe it may be territorial or in fear? Are there any other geckos in the tank with him/her? If so it could be practicing mating rituals? lol

I know they wiggle tail when about to attack food

They do it in fear or as a sign of aggression. Very normal for little ones, they don't have many other defense mechanisms other than screaming.
