I have an invision free forum, I choose to go with that over the others because I personally like it better.

I considered PHPBB but after being admin on one, I changed my mind, everything was twice as much a pain. I was working on getting a domain to but that fell threw(long story), anyways I gave up on it, im happy with them and their success so far

I prefer IPB rather than phpBB too. Making phpBB skins is a pain, the source code is all messed up. IPBs are tidier and the administration is better, in my opinion.

I concur. If I'm not using vB, PHPbb is what I use.

I use IPB on my website but I paid for the full version with tech support. phpbb is meant to be quite good but as it's the most popular forum software it could be more prone to security flaws and attacks. On the plus side it's got a massive community and loads of add-ons and support forums. IPB has support forums and add-ons too but it's disappointing that they moved from a free model to a paid-for model (not a problem as I have a small revenue stream coming from my site).
