You may have trouble locating them, they are considered agricultural pests and are heavily regulated or banned in most areas.

Yeah i read few about them, but how do i know they are banned from state IL? what about Giant thorny stick insect?

Non-native Phasmids are banned as a whole in the US by the USDA. Permits are only issued to Universities and research facilities.

There's a dude I've seen at the reptile expo in Manchester, NH that sells stick insects that are about a foot long. I've been trying to find his info for about 20 minutes, but haven't had any luck. If I can find it, I'll post it, but I've seen him there for three years, and I can't imagine something like that is native to New England.
