Last night in the chat I was talking about my gecko cleaning routine and everyone said I had OCD, lol

Well here goes my routine.

Everyday:
- Spot clean for poop
- Scrub the water dish
- Change Water
- Clean mealie dish
- Change mealie
- Moisten the Humid hide twice a day (morning and before bed)

Every 2-3days:
- Change out paper towels in the humid hide
- Scrub the humid hide clean

Every week:
- Change the paper towel substrate

Whats your schedule like?

I started that way Liz, but once my geckos miraculously - I just don't know how it happened lol :) - turned into 12, I still am very clean, but have given up spot cleaning EVERY spot I see.

This is my routine:
-I change paper towels every 3-4 days.
-I clean and sanitize (I now use a vinegar mixture due to Eric's recommendation) once a week. Do a thorough sanitizing of all tubs once a month (with a weakened bleach mixture), then rinse a few times and allow to completely dry and air out.

Check water and food dishes once a day (usually evening).

Once a day:

-Clean up poop
-Mist humid hide

Once a week:

-Remove repti-carpet and shake it out, turn over to clean side.
-clean water bowl
-change moss in humid hide (thinking I should just use baby wipes though, the moss gets everywhere)

Once a month:

-Take everything out of the tank, especially repti-carpet which is thoroughly handwashed and hung to dry.
-clean tank with vinegar/water mixture.

Of course, I only have the one little gecko. :p He doesn't make much of a mess.

Let's see..

Nightly:
-empty water bowls, scrub them, fill them back up
-remove any and all poop
-feed everyone
-mist all moist hides once
-take extra care of any with special needs, i.e. administering liquid calcium or slurry

I change paper towels as needed. Sometimes this is every couple of days, sometimes it's once a week. I keep one sheet of paper towel in the poop areas, so I am often changing that one sheet alone, while leaving the other bigger sheet in there for longer. I also clean the humid hide as needed, probably 2-3 times per month.

Completely wash and clean everything once a month, or sooner if need be.

As for the feeding, I don't use dishes. I just toss in whatever they are eating that day and make sure they eat all of it (otherwise it is removed). Most will eat one or two superworms a day. The little ones get 6-8 mealies. Some only eat crickets, and some eat roaches.

I guess I'm pretty close:

Daily
Refill water
Mist humid hide (as needed)
Spot clean any poo & wipe tile in the "bathroom" area
Recycle uneaten mealies & clean food dish
Spot-clean cold hide if it's not in use
Check UTH temperature & adjust if needed
swap and wash carpet if it's been poo'd on

Every Other Day
Scrub water dish

Once a week
Wipe down all surfaces with a damp paper towel
Change towels in the humid hide
Spot-check clay border for gaps/cracks & fill if needed.

Once a month
Deep cleaning (swap & wash carpet if it hasn't been done recently)

I'm pretty similar to most of you, and i also only have one Leo. I definitely mist her humid hide before i go to class everyday and then again when i feed her at night. Spot cleaning is also a nightly thing, and i got super lucky because Newton has used the same corner to "do her business" since the day i got her, do her substrate stays pretty clean excpet for that corner

in my thoughts
well I am not as clean as you,but I do clean all the geckos at least once a week usually on a boring school day LOL
Everyday I refill the water bowls and give them their daily mealworms.
In the summer I clean their cages about 3-4 times per week and that is a full clean up.They tend to be extremely messy!! In the winter and fall its just every week.
Of course if theirs a giant pile of crap I clean it up no matter what LOL
and that is pretty much what I do :)

I clean all my cages every other day, but it’s good to know Lana’s living in the equivalent cleanliness of a hospital. :main_laugh:

I'm pretty OCD with my Leos, also. I'm fussing with them everyday. I was afraid that, with getting more, I would not be able to keep such an OCD cleaning schedule....it just turns out I am spending most of my time in the gecko room! :main_rolleyes::main_laugh: I'm cleaning them as often with 50 as I was with just 1! They're worth it, though.

I am such a lazy mom when compare to all of you...

Daily
- Spot clean (I fold a few layers of toilet paper in their toilet spot)
- Hold and kiss each one of them

Every 2-3 days
- Mist humid hide
- Wash water dish
- Wash food dish (they're fed once every 2-3 days, no mealworms 24/7)

Every month
- Change and wash carpet substrate
- Bake wood, and scrub their hides and stuff
- Wipe their tank with chlorhexadine

Eventhough I'm lazy, I still love them...:p
