Is gender in enigmas temperature dependent?

...Or is it like in Mack Snows that they have their own rules about this? I'm curious because I have two enigmas that were incubated at male temperature, and both turned out to be females. It's quite a concidence.

I was also wondering if the enigma gene is dom or rec.?
No body really knows... I personally think its like a co-dom that can be visibly het for recessives. But Im probably so far off its pathetic. I know there was a thread started about all this and I dunno... I guess it died.

Its a dominant.

And.. from what I have seen from people. I believe that they are a lot more responsive to Temperature Sexing than Mack Snows are... But with all Temperature Sexing.. its never 100%. Sorry the odds weren't in your favor. :(

Could have just been bad luck, even with the Macks. Temp sexing is just not 100% accurate. This is the first I have heard of that result too.

Far off, but not pathetic.:D Enigmas are dominant.

Definition of Autosomal dominant

Autosomal dominant: A pattern of inheritance in which an affected individual has one copy of a mutant gene and one normal gene on a pair of autosomal chromosomes. (In contrast, autosomal recessive diseases require that the individual have two copies of the mutant gene.) Individuals with autosomal dominant diseases have a 50-50 chance of passing the mutant gene and therefore the disorder onto each of their children.

negative gene control

(cell and molecular biology) Prevention of gene expression by the binding of specific repressor molecules to operator sites.

incomplete dominance

A heterozygous condition in which both alleles at a gene locus are partially expressed, often producing an intermediate phenotype.

Maybe 2-3 people on this planet can provide a case study, but those people haven't posted yet.....

Not worth a debate because all would be ASSumptions in the end.

I know temp sexing is not 100% accurate but I hoped at least one of them turned out to be a male. Well, I had bad luck then.

Thank you all for your answers :)
