I have an understanding morphs and genetics. One term that I've seen on other websites meaning different things is eclipse. I've read that it means full, one color eyes no matter the coloration. I've also read that it is a R.A.P.T.OR that isn't albino. My gecko has the eyes, but doesn't exhibit any type of color morph.

Give him a while then take new pics of the eyes. Clear pics without a shadow over the eyes. At first a lot of hatchlings eyes look black.

Age will not change Eclipse eyes to be more identifiable so if it has pigmented eyes then I would say it is eclipse. However, I am not seeing other eclipse traits and there are such things as geckos with damages iris which will turn eyes pigmented. Questions for you; Who did you get it from? What was it purchased as? Can you ask the breeder/whoever you got it from about lineage?

Eclipse is recessive so it isn't something which will commonly happen on accident. Also a NON albino Raptor is simply a Eclipse (which depending on how literal people take the acronym there may be patternless stripe would be present as well).

He is from PetSmart. He was sold as a normal. He has no trouble seeing from what I've seen. I read somewhere that the jet eyes have appeared in banded geckos, but that's one trait I haven't really found much about.

I understand that age will not change eclipse eyes but if there are not eclipse-- normal babies hatch with what looks like black eyes but they get the more silver (normal eye) coloring later, im not 100% on how long it takes but i do know this is true.

Are its eyes looking more silver now or still just all black?

I took a good look last night and I could see faint silver around the outside. That picture was from the first night we had him and they appeared solid then.
