Or natural substrate like calci-/repti sand, (different kinds of) bark, cocopeat or tiles. The problem with clay is, that it will colour your geckos red when you spray some water on it. If you use the granules, the crickets will hide between it and it would be impossible for the gecko to catch them!

stick to solid substrate

Depends on which side of the Atlantic you live... haha ;) It'll work just as good though...

I would NOT recomend any kind of loose sub-streight (sand, bark, coconut) as there is a risk of impaction espically if they are young.

I agree with the rest of them. Don't use red clay and if you want to use tile you can pick it up at Home Depot or Lowes just make sure that you clean it very well. Also ensure the tile isn't set up where it can fall on your geckos. Hope it comes out well for you.

Same story...the crickets will hide between it. I won't use it for that reason. Sure would look nice though!

I've seen some folks use flat stones all over the floor.
It looks fantastic, and I think the leos even like it (reminds them of home??)
Problem is keeping it clean, and when you put the crics in there, they dissapear in 2 seconds and your leo will never see them.
The other prob is keeping it heated properly.

I guess if you feed only mealies (with I dont recommend, but I dont want to get flamed for saying so either!!!) and dont mind the clean up, and can solve the temp prob, you would have a killer set-up! :D
